The Quik Drive® collated fastening system is finally going cordless as Simpson Strong-Tie New Zealand announces the release of their DeWalt powered kits.

This project has been a long time in the making, and first required the redesign of their highest selling flooring screw. Their traditionally designed zinc flooring screw required install torque that cordless tools struggled to deal with. Now with the release of their new WSV zinc flooring screw in late 2019, which requires 25% less install torque to drive, the pathway to cordless is clear.

Builders will be able to select from three options as they move to cordless screw driving;

  • A full kit including the Quik Drive® PRO300 attachment, extension handle, and the DeWalt 18V DCF622N screwdriver with a charger and 2 x 5.0Ah Li-ion batteries.
  • Or, for those that already own the DeWalt 18V cordless battery platform the same kit as above minus the charger and batteries.
  • And, for those that already own a PRO300 system and want to move from a corded to a battery operated driver the option to buy the DeWalt 18V skin on its own with the nose already modified and fitted with a Quik Drive® adapter.

The PRO300 cordless system will accept 8-12 gauge screws with a range of lengths from 40-75mm. This means it can handle all the main applications that builders are commonly using their Quik Drive® tools for including flooring, underlay, decking and the newly BRANZ appraised weatherboard cladding screw system.

Now the industry standard for flooring tools, which offers ergonomic upright collated screw installation is even more convenient and safer with the elimination of leads on site. Find out more about the PRO300 Cordless Quik Drive Auto-Feed Screw Driving System.
