The Quik Drive® Weatherboard PRO has been designed to install timber bevel back weatherboards to timber-framed houses. It was designed so builders could have a faster, easier, and more accurate way to install timber weatherboard cladding. The Quik Drive Weatherboard PRO Attachment and Weatherboard Clip has a number of unique features that make it a valuable tool for weatherboard installation.

Fastener Information

The Quik Drive Weatherboard PRO makes it faster and easier to install timber bevel back weatherboards totimber-framed houses. The tool is able to install the BRANZ Appraised range of SSDTH 305 grade stainless steel collated Quik Drive fasteners with lengths ranging between 65mm - 75mm long. These screws are manufactured, tested, and approved by Simpson Strong-Tie and many leading weatherboard manufacturers.

Features & Benefits
  • A carefully designed weatherboard clip that is welded to the nose piece and guide tube of the attachment. The weatherboard clip has been designed to install the screws 42mm from the bottom of board, angled upwards at 10 degrees
  • Self-feeding mechanism that automatically advances the screws from above into the guide tube and nosepiece
  • A precision countersink adjustment mechanism allows for consistent screw depth, ensuring that the screws are installed approximately 3mm below the surface of the weatherboard, providing a neat and professional finish
  • Reduces the risk of hand fatigue and injury compared to traditional nailing and punching methods, offering a more cost-effective way to install weatherboard
  • Improves accuracy and consistency in screw placement, saving time and making it easy to reverse out, preventing broken boards if you need to remove the fastener
  • BRANZ Appraised SSDTH 305SS collated Quik Drive fasteners (65mm & 75mm)

 

Applications

Timber bevel back weatherboards to timber-framed houses

Approvals

The 65mm SSDTH screw has been appraised to use where the weatherboards are directly attached to the framing (direct fix) or when the weatherboard is attached to structurally fixed cavity batten. The 75mm long SSDTH screws have been appraised to use when installing weatherboards to non-structural cavity battens.

Note:

  • Suitable only for Timber Bevel Back Weatherboards where boards have been overlapped and aligned to weather groove as per weatherboard manufacturers guidelines
  • Suitable for common timber weatherboard sizes e.g 142mm x 18mm, 187mm x 18mm, 230mm x 18mm
  • The weatherboard tool and clip combination is not suitable for fibre cement weatherboards
  • This attachment is only suitable for tools fitted with an adaptor e.g. Makita DFS250, Makita FS2300 & DeWalt DCF622

PLEASE NOTE: Bit(s) included with every box of screws. Pre-drilling and countersink may be necessary at ends, butt joints, and on applications where denser material is used. Follow the board manufacturer’s recommendation where applicable. WARNINGS: Always wear PPE during installation. Corrosive environments, exposure to water, salt air, or chemicals (including some wood preservatives) may cause early failure.
