  1. Design Capacity is the lesser of (1) the Characteristic Capacity multiplied by the NZ Strength Reduction Factor (φ), and applicable the k modification factors following
NZS 3603 and (2) the Serviceability Capacity which is the load at 3.2mm joint slip. Design Capacity is the minimum of test data and structural joint calculation.
  2. The Strength Reduction Factor (φ) is 0.80 for nails in lateral loading.
  3. Duration of Load Factor (k1) is as shown. Reduce Duration of Load Factor where applicable. Capacities may not be increased.
  4. Timber species for joint design is seasoned Radiata Pine, which is New Zealand Joint Group J5 per NZS 3603 Table 4.1.

S/HTC4

The HTC Heavy Truss Clip ensures alignment between a roof truss and non‑bearing wall when the truss or rafter is not in contact with the top plates of the wall. Designed for applications where high lateral capacity is needed.

The A21 and A23 Reinforced Angle Brackets provide a way to make a straight angle of 90° connection. The A21, A23 L shape angles are load rated, providing the correct thickness and number of fasteners.

GA1

To provide more consistent, straight corners, Simpson Strong-Tie offers a wide variety of angles in various sizes and thicknesses to handle light-duty jobs or projects where a structural connection is needed.

A35

The versatile A34 and A35 Reinforced Angle Brackets provide a way to make a straight angle of 90° connection. The A35 Angle Bracket’s exclusive bending slot allows instant, accurate field bends for two and three-way ties.

Hurricane Tie

Hurricane Ties provide a positive connection between the truss/rafter and the wall of the structure to resist wind and seismic forces. These ties connect both solid-sawn and engineered timber across a wide range of applications.
